On September 20, 2025, cadets of the NSTP program at Negros Maritime College Foundation, Inc. (NMCFI) joined the International Coastal Cleanup Day, held in celebration of National Maritime Week.

Anchored in service and stewardship, the cadets carried out coastal duties such as removing debris from the shoreline and nearby waters, and properly collecting and segregating waste in sacks along one of Dumaguete’s local beaches. Their active participation underscored the College’s enduring commitment to environmental responsibility and its deep-rooted maritime heritage. Present during the activity were Capt. Jundith Aranez, PCGA, and NMCFI President Dr. Zeth A. Dela Cruz, who personally oversaw the cadets’ efforts and provided guidance throughout the cleanup.
